AIB/LUCAD Pop-up Show: Call For Entries!

Dear fellow AIB/LUCAD Alum, We are so pleased to announce the upcoming AlB/ LUCAD Alumni “Group 6” Pop Up Show and would like to cordially invite you to participate by sending a small sampling of your current work. Over the last two months, our small, but passionate group has been working hard to create this opportunity. The purpose for the show is to create an informal and organic conversation/ happening amongst the AIB/ LUCAD Alumni which will serve as a dress rehearsal for a larger show that we are planning in the Lunder Arts Center Roberts Gallery in 2018. The Pop Up show will be held in Cambridge, MA, on June 23, 2017 in the Vandernoot Gallery, located in the lower level of University Hall. Because of limited space, and to encourage participation no matter your distance from Cambridge, we are asking for submissions of pieces that are 10”x10” in size and ready to hang on the wall. To accommodate artists of other mediums, video submissions will looped and limited to a duration of 10 to 100 seconds, and there may be a limited availability of pedestals for 3D work. Those who generally work on a larger scale, could send a sketch; others, could work sculpturally from a 2D surface; we welcome any creative expression of your work within these limitations. Please email us a JPEG image of your submission by May 8th. “Group 6” exists with the support of, but independent of, the AIB/LUCAD program. We are thrilled to be amid several new and exciting developments, such as the MFA Art Fund, and the social media project on Instagram. We come to you in earnest, continuing a tradition made possible by a rich heritage of successful past Alumni group shows. Our fervent wish is for this informal ‘pop up’ show to incite an ongoing conversation in support of all AIB/ LUCAD MFA alums regardless of their graduation year or geographic location. Together we can create a space to exhibit and network; to grow and gain experiences working amongst each other. We can form a natural continuation of the community we found at AIB/ LUCAD; a “Group 6”. In today’s climate of social upheaval and resistance, we need to strengthen as a community of artists. Come and stand together because one of the most important things we can do right now is to talk as friends. We hope you join us! Email us your submissions at lucadgroup6@gmail.com and there will be more details to follow. Warmest Regards, Fausta Facciponte, Mario Quiroz, Mary Carlisle, Anna Spence, Brian Wilson, and Aimee Cotnoir
